SUMMARY:Tahquitz Peak via Devils Slide
DESCRIPTION:Hoping for some cooler temperatures in June, we’ll head up to Idyllwild to hike in the San Jacinto State Park Wilderness!\nBeginning in Humber Park in Idyllwild, we’ll hike up the Devils Slide Trail to its intersection with the PCT at Saddle Junction. Then we’ll head south on the PCT to the South Ridge Trail and on to the Tahquitz Peak Lookout Tower at 8846ft. After having a snack or lunch there and taking in the gorgeous views, we’ll head back down. This is an in and out hike. Although there is alot of climbing on this hike, we’ll take frequent pauses to breathe and take in the scenery!\nMeet at the Devils Slide TH in Humber Park at 8:30 am, or at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church at 47-535 CA-74 in Palm Desert at 7:30am to arrange car pooling. The leader will obtain our Day Use trail permit.
