MAZE LOOP- WINDOW ROCK ( JOSHUA TREE NAT. PK.)

This hike begins in Joshua Tree National Park. The steepest part of the hike is in the beginning.  Once on top of the highest point, there are great views of Yucca valley with Twentynine Palms to the north. As the trail  turns south we walk through a maze of sand stone boulders where we will stop for lunch. From that point on it is rolling small hills as we proceed to Window Rock and then circle back to our cars. We will hike only as fast as our slowest. Hikers should have at least two liters of water,  the ten essentials, and be able to layer their clothing. The weather can change quickly in the high desert, so be prepared.   The  hike will take between 4 – 5 hrs.

Distance: 6.75 miles

Gain:         900 ft

Starting Altitude: 4000 ft

Discovery Pass for each car recommended
