Welcome to
the Coachella Valley Hiking Club (CVHC) We are the Palm Springs
Premier Hiking Club and the California desert's largest. We are 500
members strong, we offer over 150 hikes a year.
The Coachella Valley Hiking Club offers guided hikes on Wednesday mornings, Saturday and Sunday every week, and frequently on other week days. We have hikes for all hiking abilities--easy, moderate and strenuous, from 3-4 miles with no elevation gain to 10 miles with 8000' elevation gain. The first several hikes are open to any visitor at no cost! Hotel guests, out-of-town visitors, residents and guests are welcome to join us for exhilarating, interesting and fun hikes throughout the greater Palm Springs area. Hikes are led by guides knowledgeable in the flora, fauna, and history of the area. Children are also sure to enjoy this exciting local pastime. Dogs are welcome on many hikes. Our hiking club visits to the most scenic and breathtaking areas of the California Desert region, including: The Palm Springs Indian Canyons, The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains (Idyllwild), the Mecca foothills, Joshua Tree National Park, local area cities, Yucca Valley and The San Gorgonio Mountain Wilderness. This site is occasionally maintained by Eric Baecht and he is to blame for any problems. He is probably out hiking or has his nose in a book, as usual.
To contact Eric use ebaecht@gmail.com He will get back to you as soon as possible. Just remember, we are all volunteers in this club and we are probably out hiking instead of attending to business.
