I am a Kansas City native and moved here in 2011. I joined the hiking club and fell in love with our mountains. The CVHC has made such a difference in my life. Leading hikes allows me to meet so many people and share the joy of a day spent outdoors. Between the San Jacinto, Joshua Tree, our valley, Idyllwild, and Mecca there is a lot to discover in the Palm Springs area. If not on the trail, I am most likely cooking or playing canasta or mahjong.

GARSTIN TRAILHEAD TOWARD ART SMITH/NANCY BONE MEMORIAL HIKE
One of the longer hikes we do! Starting in South Palm Springs and ending in Palm Desert, this hike is usually a key exchange. However, now we changing it up a bit. We have two groups with one starting at Art Smith and finishing at Garstin. And one (this group) starting at Garstin and will meet up with Art Smith hikers. We will then turn around and hike back to Garsin trailhead with whole group. It’s a cross country/valley journey not to be missed.
We honor our friend and hike leader Nancy Bone who passed away from Covid. This was one of her hikes. We cherish her memory.
