Charles winters in Palm Desert with his wife Dianne. Enjoyment of the desert weather has brought them back to the desert many times over the last 40 years. Their summer home is in New Hampshire, where he hikes with the Green Mountain Club. He enjoys hiking and pool time here and there with our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

INDIO HILLS BADLANDS – Open for Signups, Now Two Groups
**** A second group has been added to this popular hike to accommodate a larger number of participants. The second group will be led by Charles Buck and will leave the trailhead 30 minutes after the first group. Daniel Coleman is managing the participant list for both groups. Loop that starts out on the level desert and transitions into canyons with beautiful rock formations. It climbs up gently to offer scenic views of the valley and the Salton Sea. Some slot canyons and dry waterfalls included and unique geological uplifts. Bring plenty of water, sun screen and a snack.
