I am from Washington state splitting my time between the North Cascades mountains and Lake Chelan. I hike a few times a week and love being in the hills. I discovered the Coachella Valley Hiking Club in 2021 and have been out with Joellen Leifer, Gene Demsey, Barb Brown and others. They sold me on helping lead some hikes myself near La Quinta which is where my winter quarters are. When not hiking in WA or CA, I am currently attempting to finish the Seven Summits in 2023-2024.

LECTURE SERIES: A JOURNEY TO ACONCAGUA, MENDOZA; TALES OF CLIMBING AND WINE TASTING
In this presentation, Thierry Dhers, CVHC Hike Leader and Adventurer, will recount stories from his climb of Aconcagua and an exploration of the famous wine region at its base.
Aconcagua is a mountain in the Principal Cordillera of the Andes mountain range, located in the Mendoza Province, Argentina. It is South America’s highest peak.
This region also doubles as one of the best wine countries in the world and is renowned for its Malbec. Many winemakers in South Europe winter down in the south Hemisphere in this region.
