Rosemarie splits her time between Palm Desert in the winter and Anchorage in the summer with some hiking trips abroad for good measure!  She enjoys hiking in the Coachella Valley almost as much as she does hiking in Alaska, and has led and/or been on some amazing hikes this past summer . Rosemarie is almost retired; when she is not hiking she enjoys tennis, traveling, and fiber arts.

RANDALL HENDERSON LOOP

The Randall Henderson Canyon Loop is in south Palm Desert; it traverses the sandy washes and canyons of the lower Santa Rosa Mountains. The trailhead is located just off Highway 74 near the visitor center for the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. We hope to see cacti, mesquite trees, and desert scrub. Wildlife sightings are also common along this trail.

Trails are uphill/downhill, hard-packed and well maintained.

After the hike, you can learn more about the area at the visitor center, where you’ll also find exhibits on the monument’s trails, plants, wildlife and indigenous history.

Pace will be moderate. Trail is exposed. Bring sunscreen water.

PLEASE EMAIL ROSEMARIE TO SIGN UP FOR THIS WALK AND BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER.
