Diane and her husband Eric moved to Palm Desert in the Spring of 2024 from east Tennessee. They are year-round residents and are loving being closer to grandchildren who live in the valley! Diane is an avid hiker and backpacker, having led multiple hikes for the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club for many years, and holding a number of leadership positions in that 100 year-old organization. She thru-hiked the John Muir Trail in 2022 and is excited about living closer to the magnificent Sierra Nevadas, as well as exploring all of the hiking opportunities California has to offer!

INDIAN CANYONS STONE POOLS/PALM CANYON LOOP
This is a “lollipop” hike that begins at the Indian Canyons Trading Post. We’ll hike south on the Palm Canyon Trail to the Indian Potrero Trail. After a stop at the beautiful and unusual stone pools, we’ll continue on the Potrero Trail to loop back around on Palm Canyon.

Please meet at the Indian Canyons Trading Post at 8:30am (entrance gate opens at 8am). Entrance fee required (Seniors 62+ $7 and other adults $12). Entrance address: 38520 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264
8.7 miles, ~ 1400 ft elevation gain. Pace Moderate ~2-2.3 mph.
