TRAIL MAINTENANCE – TOUTAIN CANYON
In preparation for the Hike4Hope event in March, we will be working on the 2 1/2-mile Toutain Canyon trail. This fairly-level trail has some water crossings, depending on the prior weather. There is a waterfall at the end of the trail.
Most work will consist of brush back with some trail grooming. The primary activities will involve working with loppers, hedge trimmers, and rakes. There may be some rock moving to put steps in the waterways for ease of crossing.
Please wear long pants and shirts, hiking shoes, hats, and safety glasses. Remember to bring plenty of water and use sunscreen. Feel free to bring a snack if you like.
Parking is at the Tukut Parking area, 3/4 mile before the Whitewater Visitor Center, on Whitewater Canyon Road, Whitewater, CA .
Plan on starting at 8:00 AM. We should be done before noon.
Please call or text Gary Ward, CVHC Trail Maintenance liaison, 949-285-4664, to join this work group. Thank you for your help!
