Gary Ward has lived in the Valley since 2008 and has been active in either CVHC or Desert Trails Hiking Club since then. As a Council Member of DTHC, he helped merge the two hiking clubs in 2022. Gary retired from his position as Chief Real Estate Appraiser. He has over 25 years hiking experience in CA and has been involved in trail work for 10+ years. He also works with Friends of the Desert Mountains on full moon hikes, scorpion hunts and invasive weed abatement.

Trail Maintenance

TRAIL MAINTENANCE – BLIXSETH PARK

The trail maintenance work party will hit Blixseth Park in Rancho Mirage to fix some run-off issues and do some raking on the rest of the trail.

Normal necessities are needed: water, sunscreen, hat, glasses, gloves, snacks, hiking boots/shoes. Long sleeved shirt and long pants are suggested.  

If you do not have Gary Ward’s prior email with directions to Blixseth Park, you can find the Park on GOOGLE Maps or other navigation systems. Just enter Blixseth Park and follow the directions to get to the Park entrance. 
 
It is not anticipated to be a long day; work should wrap up before noon.
