Cathy is from Winnetka IL, where she directs and choreographs a children's theater. She has been coming to our desert for the past 4 years and rediscovered her love for hiking. She spends 5 and 1/2 months here and have never met a hike that she didn't love! She can't wait to explore new hikes and take people on some of her favorites. The desert is so beautiful and there are so many hikes to explore!

YUCCA PEAK TO SNOW CREEK
This is a shuttle hike starting at the Ranger Station at Whitewater Preserve. It climbs steadily over the first 4.5 miles to the saddle of Yucca Peak. A short diversion from the main trail takes you the the scenic overlook from the peak. After re-tracing our steps back to the main trail, we continue over the saddle and into the land of windmills and flowers (springtime). As the trail flattens out we walk toward the highway underpass that the PCT hikers take and continue to the village of Snow Creek where are cars await.
14 Miles with Elevation gain of 2000 ft.
