WHITEWATER CANYON VIEW LOOP
Our trail crosses the Whitewater River bed and passes through a lush riparian habitat. It then ascends to a heather-covered plateau with excellent views of the canyon and San Gorgonio mountain. Bighorn sheep can often be seen on the hilltops. After the hike, you may wish to visit the displays in the ranger station or have a picnic lunch by the pond.
Anyone who is in good physical condition and can walk for 2 hours will enjoy this hike. Meet in the Whitewater Preserve ranger station’s parking lot at 9160 Whitewater Canyon Road which is off Highway 10, just past the exit for Highway 62. Washrooms are available at the trailhead.
