Charles winters in Palm Desert with his wife Dianne. Enjoyment of the desert weather has brought them back to the desert many times over the last 40 years. Their summer home is in New Hampshire, where he hikes with the Green Mountain Club. He enjoys hiking and pool time here and there with our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
MURRAY PEAK LOOP
Join us for a morning hike up the east side of Murray Peak and down the west through Wild Horse, looping back to the starting point at Pine Hills Road, (east of Vons). This hike is mostly moderate but has continuous climbing switchbacks to assault the summit, putting it in the “strenuous” category. The duration of the hike should be about 4.5-5 hours. We will take water breaks as needed and a snack break at the picnic tables on top.
The temperature is forecast to be in the mid 70’s for a high on November 14th but bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and a snack of your choice.
The hike will start at Palm Hills Road, adjacent to Vons (4733 E Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs).
7.6 miles with elevation gain of 1,860 feet. Fast pace
