WHITEWATER CANYON VIEW LOOP
Our trail passes through a lush riverside environment and then ascends to a heather-covered plateau with excellent views of the Whitewater Canyon and San Gorgonio mountain. Bighorn sheep can often be seen on the hilltops. After the hike, you may wish to visit the displays in the ranger station or have a picnic lunch by the pond.
Anyone who is in good physical condition and able to walk at a medium pace for 2 – 3 hours (with 25 minutes going uphill) will enjoy this hike. Meet in the Whitewater Preserve ranger station’s parking lot at 9160 Whitewater Canyon Road which is off Highway 10, just past the exit for Highway 62. Washrooms are available at the trailhead.
