MURRAY PEAK from BOGERT TRAILHEAD
Murray Peak is a very distinct pointy peak along the mountain ridge looking south from Palm Springs. While there are several approaches to Murray Peak, we will start at the Bogert Trailhead as there is easy parking and the climb up from this point is quiet and shaded in the morning with great views across to the San Jacinto area. We’ll climb up along a quiet canyon, crest a ridge with views into the Santa Rosas, and then end at a panoramic viewpoint where you can see the Coachella Valley, San Jacinto, San Gorgonio, and Joshua Tree.
This trail has a lot of sun exposure. Bring lots of water, sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat. Hiking poles are strongly recommended for the steep slippery segments.
