I spend my time between Springfield MO and La Quinta CA. My first year here was in 1993 but my first full season was in 2006. I’ve been hiking ever since. I’ve only been a member of CVHC for a few years but I am so happy I joined. I spent the formative years hiking all across the area with like minded friends who showed me the way. I am forever indebted. I love adventures of any kind and often joke about all of my “new best friends“ I make along the way. My husband and I enjoy boating and we sure have some stories to tell.
South Lykken Trail Starting From the North End off Mesquite Ave — FULL

We will meet at the South Lykken trailhead to leave cars and then drive over to Mesquite Ave and start from the north end. Then we end up where we left our cars. I think it is a little steeper from the North side but just as beautiful with lots of flowers and the chances of seeing sheep just as high as seeing them on the south end. Passing by Tahquitz Falls is always a bonus.
We hike a total of 4.8 miles with 1,161′ of elevation gain.
