This is a combination of 2 hikes totaling 5 miles with very minimal elevation gain. There is some minor rock scrambling that is optional. This is an interesting and diverse geological site in the Coachella Valley. It also has lush palm groves and a dry waterfall. Hike access is at the parking lot past the ranger station off the highway 74. There is an ART SMITH TRAIL monument sign at entrance to parking area.
