MUSHROOM ROCK LOOP – JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK
Hike begins among classic stacked boulders in JTNP. Meetup directions will be sent later. Hiking west we can view Mt. Minerva Hoyt while also viewing the skillful craftsman constructed rock steps on the Johnny Lang Connector trail. This trail’s destination is a masterpiece of weather shaped desert geology. In this isolated and beautiful place, mysteries abound. We’ll visit artifacts from past mining days and view a series of rock walls which remain a mystery of the desert. Park rangers suggest miners may have constructed them as well.
Fee to enter Park. Group limited to 10 hikers.
5 miles, 800′ elevation gain. Most of route is off-trail. Moderate pace.
