I am a Kansas City native and moved here in 2011. I joined the hiking club and fell in love with our mountains. The CVHC has made such a difference in my life. Leading hikes allows me to meet so many people and share the joy of a day spent outdoors. Between the San Jacinto, Joshua Tree, our valley, Idyllwild, and Mecca there is a lot to discover in the Palm Springs area. If not on the trail, I am most likely cooking or playing canasta or mahjong.

GUADALUPE CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN FORECAST

One of the epic journeys in the desert. A car needs to be parked at trail’s end or have someone pick you up. This is 6-8 hour hike starts in the La Quinta Cove at the Boo Hoff trail. At the top of Boo Hoff the trail goes right and starts the long and arduous climb to Cowboy camp.  After checking out the camp remains the trail continues through 5 miles of wash until the end which is 3 miles up Horsethief creek trail. Ends in Pinon Pines off of hwy 74. Not to be done on a hot day!

15 Miles with Elevation gain 5,500 ft
