HENDERSON TRAIL ONLY- PALM SPRINGS
Join us on this scenic, out-and-back hike from Palm Springs. The hike is only 2.5 miles long but it accumulates 550’ of elevation gain. It begins on the Earl Henderson Trailhead at the junction with the Garstin Trail and travels above the wash, gradually climbing. There are several brief, steep, rough pitches at the start and near the turnaround. If your experience is limited, we’ll give tips on how to navigate this kind of terrain which is so common around Palm Springs. At the turnaround point, there is a good view San Gorgonio Peak in the distance.
To reach the trailhead, from S Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, turn left on Bogert Trail (paved street) and continue across the bridge for a total of 0.8 miles. Then turn left onto the block-long Barona Road residential street immediately after the bridge. Park on the street. The trailhead is inconspicuous, located a little past the last house on your right while facing the barricade at the end of the street.
2.5 miles with 550 feet elevation gain.
