RIBBONWOOD TRAIL AT PINYON PINES – CANCELLED
Starting at the Sawmill trailhead near Pinyon Pines, the hike loops past an abandoned dolomite mine, takes you to a waterfall (that may be dry depending on the season) and meanders through picturesque pinyon pines and ribbonwood. It’s about 3 miles starting at 4000 feet of elevation and includes about 400 feet of elevation gain. We should finish the hike in under 2 hours.
Meet at the Sawmill trailhead parking area at 10:00 AM. The parking area is just off Hwy 74 at the end of Pinon Flats Transfer Station Road.
Bring the usual 10 essentials including at least a liter of water as it’s cool but very dry there. Poles will be very helpful on the gravelly trail.
Dogs welcome! Dogs must be dog friendly and have to be on leash at all times, no exceptions.
IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR DOG, PLEASE CALL. OTHERWISE, PLEASE EMAIL AND INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER.
