OAK CANYON POTHOLES

This challenging 6-7 hour hike requires agility, flexibility and some scrambling experience to negotiate the boulders and vegetation that crowd sections of this remote canyon in the Queen Mountain area (JTNP). The reward at the end of the hike is a collection of water-sculpted, polished rock slabs full of deep potholes. Short side trek leads to a waterfall.

7.5  with Elevation gain of 800 ft.

Medium pace (adapted to terrain)

Limited to 12 hikers.

Meeting time and place: We will meet at 8:30 am in Joshua Tree NP, at the Hemingway turnout, which is located on the right (west) side of Park Blvd, 7.7 miles beyond the West Entrance booth and we will caravan/car pool from there.
