Michelle Yeager has been hiking for almost three decades and is happiest when she's on a trail with a great view and good company. After recently moving back to the Coachella Valley from San Diego, she's thrilled to once again call the desert home year-round and enjoy all the hiking opportunities the region has to offer. When she's not exploring desert and mountain trails, Michelle serves as Vice President of Finance & HR at the McCallum Theatre. In fact, if she's not on a hike, she's probably at the theatre—and if she's not at the theatre, she's probably planning her next hike (or trying to convince her friends that "it's really not that steep").

SAN JACINTO PEAK from PS Aerial Tram
This spectacular hike is best done in summertime when the valley is so hot! We’ll meet at the Palm Springs Aerial Tram Station at 9:30 am in time to line up for the 10am Tram. Then we’ll hike to Long Valley, Round Valley and on up to Wellman Divide with its expansive views. Continuing, we’ll go another 2.7 miles to San Jacinto Peak. There is some fairly easy rock scrambling at the top. San Jacinto is the second highest mountain peak in Southern California, at 10,834 ft.
Parking for the Tram is free if you are a Coachella Valley resident, or have a summer or year-round pass. Tram tickets are $36.95 for adults and $33.95 for 65+ adults, or free if you have purchased a pass.
Please plan to spend 5.5-6 hours on this hike, not counting the tram before and after.
