Kurt is a Professor of Natural Resources at College of the Desert where he teaches courses on Conservation, Entomology, Field Ornithology, Native Plants, and GPS Navigation. Kurt also teaches weekend courses and workshops on birdwatching, insects, GPS, and backyard habitats.

Nature Walk in Living Desert

Join us on a morning trek through a pristine Sonoran Desert. Be prepared to look at anything and everything from birds to butterflies. The guided walk looping around the zoo will take about 2 hours but participants can stay longer.

The walk will be led by Kurt Leuschner. Kurt has been a frequent lecturer to our club and he is a phenomenal story teller. Kurt has an MS in Wildlife Ecology and is a Professor of Natural Resources.

2 hours, easy hike

Meet at the Main Entrance Plaza, Living Desert Zoo.

The walk will be offered if we have at least 10 sign-ups and will be held to a maximum of 14 participants. Fee to enter for non-members of the Living Desert; free for members.
