I am from Washington state splitting my time between the North Cascades mountains and Lake Chelan. I hike a few times a week and love being in the hills. I discovered the Coachella Valley Hiking Club in 2021 and have been out with Joellen Leifer, Gene Demsey, Barb Brown and others. They sold me on helping lead some hikes myself near La Quinta which is where my winter quarters are. When not hiking in WA or CA, I am currently attempting to finish the Seven Summits in 2023-2024.
SKYLINE 1/4 WAY TO THE TRAM
From Ramon road we take this trail up to the picnic tables and turn left to start on the very epic Skyline trail. Join up to get a taste of what the journey is like and then try the 1/2 way up next time! Great views of the valley and a good work out. Because of the steepness of this hike, poles are helpful for anyone with knee issues.
6 Miles with Elevation gain of 2000 ft.
Depending on group strength and pace, we might optionally decide to push to 1/3 of the way to gain better views of the valley…
We’ll start from the North Lykken trailhead, located at the western terminus of West Ramon Road. Please arrive at the trailhead by 7:55 AM and be ready to go at 8:00 AM.
