TAHQUITZ PEAK LOOP

Start at St. Margaurets Church on Hwy 74 to carpool to Idyllwild.  The fire-tower lookout is the goal! Stop for snacks or lunch with beautiful sweeping views all around.  Descend  on the Southridge Trail, returning to the cars on the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail.

Permit required for car at Humber Park (adventure pass) and trail permit required for hike which can be picked up at ranger station in Idyllwild. It’s right on the way.

13 Miles with Elevation gain of 3200 ft.
