Christy winters in the desert and spends the rest of each year at home near Denver or traveling. She leads mostly moderate paced hikes, often including stops for talking about local history. Christy plays golf with wild inconsistency, and refuses to let the game spoil the walk. In her past life she was a Sacramento land use attorney.

MISSION CREEK PRESERVE

3.5 miles
400 foot gain
Moderate Pace

As the last Monday Mod hike for this season, we will ramble in the Mission Creek Preserve, west of Desert Hot Springs and about two miles west of Hwy 62.  Preserve access requires a secret code (I have it!) to open a locked gate.  We will meet and form carpools at 7:45 on 19th Avenue, just west of Indian Canyon Drive and north of the freeway (the Desert Hot Springs side of the freeway). We will form carpools on 19th Street, and then drive a few miles farther to the Preserve entrance gate.

This is a special place, with real toilets, old Stone Houses and a tree shaded picnic area where we can eat together after the hike.

Please do not sign up if you need to be home before 3pm.

In the All Trails App, this is called the Mission Creek Preserve Trail.  Do not go to the trailhead directly!

PLEASE EMAIL CHRISTY TO JOIN THE HIKE.
