Christy winters in the desert and spends the rest of each year at home near Denver or traveling. She leads mostly moderate paced hikes, often including stops for talking about local history. Christy plays golf with wild inconsistency, and refuses to let the game spoil the walk. In her past life she was a Sacramento land use attorney.
MONDAY MODERATE HIKES (MODS)
The hike this week is the north section of the South Lykken trail. Please meet at 8:45am near the corner of Mesquite and Belardo. Park on the street. We will amble out and back with a round trip total of about 4 miles towards Indian Canyon. Do NOT go to the popular South Lykken trailhead located on S. Palm Canyon Drive near Oswit Canyon! As always, there will be frequent stops on uphill sections to admire the views and catch our breath (and listen to Christy talk!). are moderate hikes every other Monday for those interested in 4-8 mile strolls with mostly gentle elevation gains and stops every 15-20 minutes for photos, water and moments to admire desert plants and vistas. The hike location will be posted on the schedule a week in advance. Check the schedule the day in advance for weather cancellations. Please join if you enjoy moderate hikes in good company!
