Gary Ward has lived in the Valley since 2008 and has been active in either CVHC or Desert Trails Hiking Club since then. As a Council Member of DTHC, he helped merge the two hiking clubs in 2022. Gary retired from his position as Chief Real Estate Appraiser. He has over 25 years hiking experience in CA and has been involved in trail work for 10+ years. He also works with Friends of the Desert Mountains on full moon hikes, scorpion hunts and invasive weed abatement.
TRAIL MAINTENANCE – RANDALL HENDERSON TRAIL
This week, we will groom the Randall Henderson Trail in preparation for a 5K run the following Saturday. This should be light work: raking, coble removal, and possibly some brush trimming.
Meet at the Santa Rosa Monument Visitor Center on Highway 74 across from the Art Smith Trailhead Parking lot. Use the lower parking lot, which is the first one you come to from the drive-way.
Bring the standard trail work necessities: water, glasses, gloves, hats, hiking shoes/boots, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, snacks, and sunscreen.
