Gary Ward has lived in the Valley since 2008 and has been active in either CVHC or Desert Trails Hiking Club since then. As a Council Member of DTHC, he helped merge the two hiking clubs in 2022. Gary retired from his position as Chief Real Estate Appraiser. He has over 25 years hiking experience in CA and has been involved in trail work for 10+ years. He also works with Friends of the Desert Mountains on full moon hikes, scorpion hunts and invasive weed abatement.

TRAIL MAINTENANCE – COACHELLA VALLEY PRESERVE
This week, we head out to work on the the Hidden Palms Trail in the Coachella Valley Preserve.
You will need the usual hats, gloves, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, hiking shoes/boots, water, sunscreen, and safety/sun glasses. Don’t forget a snack, too, if you would like one. We will work until 11:00- 11:30 AM. Gary will provide the tools.
The work group meets at 8:00 AM at the kiosk on Thousand Palms Road, just before the parking lot entrance to the Preserve.
Please let Gary know if you will be there so he can bring enough tools.
