TRAIL MAINTENANCE

This Tuesday, we will be heading up the hill to do some restoration work on the Palm Canyon trail head near Pinyon.

The work will involve taking out shortcuts, moving brush and realigning the trail in some spots, in other words, plenty of digging and shoveling.  Please bring your heavy duty trail working gloves, shoes and outerwear duds. Keep in mind that this location is at a few thousand feet in elevation, so it could be cool to start out in the morning.  Not sure of the schedule, but bring some food and extra water in case this runs past the normal quitting time of noon.

MEET LOCATION:

Either

(1) Work site: Palm View Road, off Hwy74, which is about two miles past Palm Canyon Drive in Pinyon.  It is also near Ribbon Wood. If you pass the old boarded up gas station on the left, you went about 1/4 mile too far.

or

(2) South Parking lot at the Visitors center( Randall Henderson Trail head ) at 8:00 AM.  We’ll get bunched up and figure out how to get up the hill from there.
