TRAIL MAINTENANCE

After an unplanned week off, we are back on the trail and ready to move some dirt. This coming Tuesday, January 28, we will be working on the trail head area of the Boo Hoff Trail near Lake Cahuilla. We will be meeting at the Beer Hunter parking lot at Washington and Hwy 111 in La Quinta at 7:30am. We will convoy to the Lake Cahuilla area were there is an off street parking area. From this area, we will shuttle up to the wash to the trail head. The work site is near the trail head with less than ½ mile hike in. The work involves filling in erosion and improving the foot bed on about 1/4 mile of trail. With the travel time involved, expect to get back to the Beer Hunter about 2:00pm, so bring enough food and water to last. Also bring your best dirt moving duds, which includes sturdy shoes, long pants, gloves, hat and sun screen. For those that may need to leave early, You will be about 2 miles from your car unless you car is high clearance, if so, no problem. (wash is rather smooth but uneven between parking lot and trail head.)
