Mardi and Marc enjoy hiking in the coastal rain forests near their home on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia but since retiring in 2013 they now happily spend winters exploring by foot the desert and surrounding mountains of the Coachella Valley. They also love to visit France where they have done a number of long distance hiking excursions in recent years. An avid outrigger canoe paddler, Marc is always in search of interesting places to paddle---a challenge in the desert!
WEST FORK LOOP
This hike is similar to the West Fork to Andreas Canyon hike except that on the descent, we will turn onto the Coffman Trail and Palm Canyon Road to hike back to the Trading Post parking area rather than continue on to Andreas Canyon. Great views of the Coachella Valley, Indian Canyons, Palm Groves and San Jacinto Peak.
8.7 Miles with Elevation gain of 1990 ft. Hike limited to 10 participants.
Please note that the Indian Canyons Park entrance gate opens at 8:00 am and there is an entrance fee. We will meet at the Indian Canyons Trading Post parking area at 8:30 am.
